A hush came over the crowd at Horizon Hills Retirement Home as Malvo the Magnificent prepared for his only decent act of Magic. He was going to make his lovely assistant, Doris, disappear. POOF! As the smoke cleared Doris quickly realized something was dreadfully wrong. Malvo, who by all accounts was the worst magician ever had somehow mustered up enough true magic to turn himself into a rat. Doris quickly ran to scoop up Malvo while the show's mascot, Toots the Owl, contemplated the fact that he hadn't eaten lunch yet.
I had to resort to the magic "poof"...the only other idea that came to mind felt a little too politically incorrect.

your illo is very funny! you are a good story teller too :) i like the bright colours and the expressions on their faces. It is funny how all the Aussies thought of the other meaning of poof, and everyone else doesn't understand!
Oh I love how it starts in a retirement home. Everyone needs a little excitement, no matter what age! Hilarious and brilliantly executed!
