Illustration Friday- Balloon

There are always hot air balloons floating around in the mornings around Melbourne. I like to paint them but with animals on the balloon ride instead of people. I did see one guy took his dog up for a flight. I am not sure how much a puppy would really enjoy flying around in a balloon but who knows.

Illustration Friday- Opinion

The two fairies had difficulty expressing their differing opinions without getting a teeny, tiny bit snarky.

Illustration Friday- Pretend

When Lula wanted to run away she would pretend her axolotl, Nester, quadrupled in size and took her to live with the sea monsters who, by the way, love to eat stupid little brothers.

This is an illustration in progress. I still need to paint it.

Fool Puppet

I was browsing through ms. e.k. buckley's new website looking at pictures of our past Charcoll shows. I had totally forgot I made a puppet for the fool show. I love the puppets!

Illustration Friday- Clutter

Today it was outing day at the zoo. Who knew what a special day it would be?! The sky was completely cluttered up with pandas, giraffes and a vast array of other animals bobbing around in hot air balloons.

Illustration Friday-Sail

Getting Mommy to let them go sailing was easy. LuLa didn't mention how easy it would be to convince her stupid little brother that swimming in shark infested waters was a fabulous idea.

LuLa

LuLa couldn't understand why she was the one sent to her room. It wasn't her fault her stupid little brother couldn't tell the difference between spaghetti and a bowl of earth worms. For the first time in her life, LuLa felt something that could only be described as LOVE. No matter how many times LuLa asked for a tarantula doll all her Grammy made were bears and bunnies. When LuLa started playing "William Tell" Mommy realized she had made a huge mistake taking the children apple picking.

Day of the Dead

I bought a bunch of FEMO a while ago. I pulled it out the other day and made little skulls. Then whole people. Now I have some Day of the Dead figures.

Devil

May the Devil make a ladder of your backbone while he is picking apples in the garden of Hell. -Irish Toast (or Curse)

Illustration Friday-POOF!

A hush came over the crowd at Horizon Hills Retirement Home as Malvo the Magnificent prepared for his only decent act of Magic. He was going to make his lovely assistant, Doris, disappear. POOF! As the smoke cleared Doris quickly realized something was dreadfully wrong. Malvo, who by all accounts was the worst magician ever had somehow mustered up enough true magic to turn himself into a rat. Doris quickly ran to scoop up Malvo while the show's mascot, Toots the Owl, contemplated the fact that he hadn't eaten lunch yet.

I had to resort to the magic "poof"...the only other idea that came to mind felt a little too politically incorrect.

Multitude of Heavenly Hosts

I was worried I had lost this painting in the move but it was safe and sound...just hiding.

Little Prince

A couple of ATCs I made for a trade based on The Little Prince.

Shrine

Over the years I have collected a few little good luck charm/keepsake-type things. I wanted somewhere special to keep them so I made a mini-shrine to hang on the wall.

Illustration Friday-Canned

By winning the heart of the 97 year old millionaire, Miette had found her ticket out of this dingy dancehall. She had can-canned her way right into the lap of luxury.

Ok...so this may be a BIG stretch of this weeks topic but all I could think of was can-can girls.

A little doodle of an aging scientist whose once great mind had long ago become foggy. He still longs to invent but often mistakes his cats for his long packed away beekers.

Illustration Friday-Fierce

A tattoo design I am working on for my husband. His favorite place in the world is Bali so he wants a barong mask. Their teeth look pretty fierce to me.

Illustration Friday-Hoard

I relate "hoarding" with gluttony and greed, maybe even lust so I just threw in all seven of the deadly sins for a family portrait this week. Sloth, Gluttony, Pride, Wrath, Envy, Greed and Lust.

Illustration Friday-Punchline

Ezmerelda waited in the wings for her cue, a tired punchline from an aging ringmaster. Her sequins too had long lost their luster but tonight she would tame the king of the beasts. With whip held high she entered this cut rate big top for the last time.

La Soiree at the Melba Spiegeltent

I just found Illustration Friday today and I am excited to participate.

This isn't related to this weeks theme but I finished this piece today....my interpretation of the cast of La Soiree.

Looking forward to illustrating away!!!
